Students come to City College on a full-time basis to continue their vocational or higher education. They also come to do part-time or short courses to build on their existing skills or qualifications or perhaps just to learn a new skill and meet new friends. You may have already heard that when Ofsted recently visited the College, we were praised as “outstanding” by the inspection team. In fact, last year our student success rates for all of our full-time courses put us 14th out of 234 colleges in England. So, if you come to City College, you can be sure that you are coming to one of the best colleges for vocational courses in the country. For Level 3 (A-level equivalent) courses City College is the fifth highest performing college in the country and is the top performing college in Sussex.

Our modern and diverse facilities mean that we attract around 9,000 students each year, making City College a great place to study. Our courses focus on preparing you for work and we have excellent links with over 600 employers in the Brighton area. We attract a diverse student population that reflects our local community, as well as enabling us to welcome students from across the UK and overseas. This community spirit has become a part of our ethos. Everyone who visits the college says that the College is extremely welcoming and that students and visitors always meet with friendly attitudes and support.

I hope this website gives you an idea of the vibrant and friendly atmosphere at City College and don’t forget that if you’re still unsure about which course to choose, you’re warmly invited to attend one of our Open Days / Evenings where you can talk to tutors and students, view our fantastic course facilities, College campuses and sample the atmosphere for yourself. You can contact our course advice and guidance team on 01273 667759 or drop in anytime to our new Student Centre.
