CP Theatre Production is the trading name of Chelsea Players, a theatre company and a registered charity, based in London.

Our productions encompass new writing (UK premiere of Aussie black comedy Milo's Wake), gritty contemporary drama (Ravenhill, Welsh, Marber) and comedy (Coward, Godber, Simon).

Chelsea Players was founded as an amateur dramatic society in the 1960s and enjoyed a 25-year residency at London's Chelsea Theatre until 2000.

From 2001, Chelsea Players evolved into a touring theatre company. Each production is now staged at a theatre suitable for it; we continue to perform at the Barons Court Theatre, Fulham; the Putney Arts Theatre, Putney; the Landor Theatre, Clapham and the London Oratory Arts Centre, Fulham.

The company's Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2004 with Milo's Wake marks a new high in the short history of the new company.

While the organisation is non-profit, the quality of our productions is far from amateur. To better reflect the level of professionalism we strive for in each show, the name of the theatre company was changed from Chelsea Players to CP Theatre Productions in September 2006 - to coincide with the announcement of an exciting new season.

Media coverage of our shows online and offline continues to grow. Our productions are regularly listed in the fringe sections of the national, regional and local press and reviewed in an increasingly varied range of publications. One of our directors has been interviewed by TNT magazine, reviews have appeared in The Stage and various local interest and arts specialist newspapers, magazines and websites.

The company's constitution guides the Board, each member of which is elected from the membership bi-annually to manage the company.

Everyone involved in a CP show becomes a member of the company if they are not already. Our members include set designers, lighting and sound operators, directors, producers, stage managers, costumiers, visual artists, audience members and of course actors.

In collaboration with our venues we arrange acting, writing and technical workshops for our members, who also benefit from a raft of social events held throughout the year.
