Theatre to question, challenge and inspire. Theatre for all, independent of age, gender, ethnic background.
"Since its launch at The Place in 2006 with ‘Stories of the Forgotten Land’, the Footprint project has been strongly committed to bringing new international work to the UK audiences. In the last two years, we have performed in London at Chisenhale Dance Space, The Oxford House, The Place, The Space and Camden People’s Theatre. With a strong multicultural influence, we have transported stories from Iceland, Angola, Mozambique, India, Wales and Brazil and transformed them into theatre that challenges Western concepts and inspires life. We don’t follow a specific technique, we are hybrids, making use of physical theatre, story telling, live music, poetry, dance, film and photo projections in our work. Despite this variety of elements, one thing always remains the same: the actor is the focus. Without good acting no story can be told. Perhaps because of that, our process is always long, we experiment, develop and rehearse tirelessly before evolving into a full production. It can take a long time, but for us, it’s always worth it."
