Fuse is an innovative theatre company that produces memorable theatre experiences for children and young people.

Fuse evolved out of Merseyside Young People’s Theatre Company; an established organisation, founded in 1978.

The company has always believed in the importance of presenting high quality theatre to children and young people in any environment; touring to schools, galleries, libraries, museums, and theatre venues.

Probably the most well known production in the early part of the company’s history was Willy Russell's 'Blood Brothers', commissioned by MYPT, the show toured to schools in the early 1980's.

Over the 30 years of its existence the company has produced an enormous variety of work for young audiences across the North-West, ranging from devised work to translations, adaptations and new commissions. The Fuse programme offers productions that are age group specific and each year at least one project is catered for each key stage and for early years. Our artistic programme is designed via direct consultation with young people and adults that work with young people in a variety of settings. This ensures all of our work is current, relevant and useful to the young people we reach. We welcome all such input into our work, so please do contact us to become part of our consultative processes.

Fuse also delivers participatory projects, currently on a bespoke basis. These take place in both school and community settings and via partnership working allow young people to experience and create their own high quality drama and theatre projects. Fuse aims to consolidate this work into a regular programme of activity in 2010.
