The Geoffrey Whitworth Theatre is very professional amateur dramatic theatre who's president is Sir Michael Gambon. They hold annual auditions for their season of shows. Anyone is allowed to join and audition, it's great fun and everyone is very friendly. They recently took their production of 'A Thieves Carnival' to the Minack open air theatre in Cornwall. Other past productions include 'Journey's End', 'The Pillow Man', 'The Cherry Orchard', 'Rosencrants and Guildenstern are Dead', to mention but a few.
