Growling Clown Entertainment came into life in 1999, and are now responsible for the design, production and promotion of some of the most innovative and original live entertainment shows in the UK. All of which are available to be booked for private, public, university and corporate events. Our shows are highly flexible and can be adapted in many ways to suit most budgets and requirements.
We can also put together bespoke entertainment shows to suit most requirements and budgets.
Since 1999, we have ran the Funny Bones Comedy Club shows which feature some of the UK's best stand-up comedians and which have taken place at numerous venues on a monthly (and sometimes weekly) basis all around the North of England.
Growling Clown Entertainment organised, marketed and booked the annual Newcastle Gateshead Comedy Festival from 2007-2009 in conjunction with both Newcastle and Gateshead city councils.
Other prestigious shows we have designed, produced and marketed include the theatre variety show "Cabaret Excentrique", the bizarre club night "House of the Golden Lotus", and "Grindhouse" - an OTT 18 rated sleaze rock music event.
In 2009, Growling Clown Entertainment diversified into feature length film production and our first co-production (with 24:25 Films), the comedy horror "Zombie Women of Satan" premiered at the Empire cinema in London's Leicester Square on 31/08/09, as part of the prestigious horror film festival FrightFest. The movie has since been released on DVD in the UK, America, Canada, Spain, Australia and New Zealand, as well as being shown numerous times on British and American horror TV channels.
In 2012, we produced and shot the sequel "Zombie Women of Satan 2" which again features cult hero character Pervo The Clown (played by Warren Speed), as well as co-stars Pete Bennett, Mike Fielding and Kathy Paul (and over 60 sexy zombie women)...directed by Chris Greenwood. Release is expected around the world in early 2013.
Growling Clown's Managing Director, Warren Speed is a performer himself and has performed around Europe in many different guises...from doing male burlesque alongside the legendary Dita Von Teese in Paris, performing stand-up around the UK with the likes of Alan Carr and Sarah Millican, doing fetish acts at huge events such as Wasteland in Amsterdam and Skin Two's London Rubber Ball...to stilt-walking and angle-grinding at club nights around Europe and hosting large corporate events.
In early 2013, the freakshow rock band Sideshow Excentrique that Warren plays bass guitar in will be releasing their first album and begin touring with their bizarre stageshow.
Other projects Warren and GCE currently have in pre-production are a new story-led touring theatre show tentatively titled "Chaplin-Esque", and a crazy TV show hosted by Pete Bennett and Warren called "Get Amongst It!!".
