Half Empty Films was founded by Jonathan Farr and Richard Fisher in the autumn of 2002. It's purpose then - as it remains today - was to prove to the world that it was possible to make enjoyable and thought provoking films without the luxuries of money or formal film school training.

Their first feature - 'First Against The Wall' (2003) - was shot on a borrowed budget camcorder and used family and friends as actors. By the time it premiered at the Genesis Cinema in Mile End on 01/08/2003 (going head to head with 'Terminator 3', 'Spy Kids 3' and 'Legally Blonde 2') just £200 had been spent (predominantly on MiniDV tapes and a microphone which broke two thirds of the way into shooting). Despite obvious flaws in the film (large sections were either out of focus or inaudible), it was extremely well received.

Their second feature - 'Anamnesis' (2006) - took almost 18 months to get from being scraps of conversations held while waiting for the bus, to being a finished script and shooting schedule, ready for filming which began in November 2004. Post-production was finished in early December 2005, just in time for it's preview at BAFTA's Princess Anne Theatre on 09/12/2005. It was subsequently screened at the Portobello Film Festival and Nominated for the Society of Fantastic Films' Delta Award. A special edition DVD loaded with extra features is available now, and can be purchased from the shop.

Most recently Half Empty Films have produced a promotional video for the Necroluxe track 'Juvenile Delinquent Lover' (2007). The video can be played or downloaded via the 'projects' section of this web-site.
