Historia is a Registered Charity aimed at advancing education through the encouragement of the arts. Specifically, it has established a theatre company to stage plays that have their source or inspiration in history. Although Historia has been in existence since 1997, it decided to seek charitable trust status during 2002, and was registered by the Charity Commission on 2 October 2003. Its founder, Catherine Price, is an actress and historian. Writing as Kate Glover, she has written and adapted a number of works, and most recently directed her own adaptation of Fanny Burney's 3-volume novel, Evelina, at the Pentameters Theatre, Hampstead.
