Born in rural Kent ( SE England ) Howard studied photography at Manchester Art School. Moving to London, he started assisting and seeking his own commissions, working for music magazines in the punk years, and moving on to catalogue studios, car studios and eventually establishing his own studio base in Shoreditch. He is still based there.
