JACK is a project-based dance initiative identifying with both expert and unseasoned audiences of classical and contemporary dance. JACK was founded by Lucas Jervies, Robert Curran, Andrew Killian and Laura Tong out of a desire to produce dance in Australia that is genuinely innovative, whilst exploring the vast possibilities of cherished classical ballet technique. Australia’s geographic isolation justifies a demand for greater diversity therefore JACK’s purpose is not to neglect current or future Australian artists, but to enrich the current artistic environment, inciting exchanges of imagination that can be developed and maintained.
