Kean Productions tours venue appropriate plays and musicals around the United Kingdom. We believe it is essential that regular theatre going audiences, who are the life-blood of the arts, are given the best possible standard of performance and production values. Regional audiences should not feel they are poor relations of those that go to the myriad of London venues.
It is vital to us that our productions reach those who would not normally go to a performance. This may be for a variety of reasons among which may be: cost, accessibility, timing, perception of elitist works, lack of opportunity and social exclusion.
We tackle each of these head on with ‘free to the audience’ community performances, movable performance times, readily accessible works and free student workshops. Further information can be found in the section ‘Community & Education’.
The first and primary object of the company is ‘to advance the arts for the public benefit’.
We are committed to ensuring those who work with us are paid a proper wage using ITC/Equity guidelines. Too frequently actors and creatives are expected to work for minimal or no pay and this is not acceptable to us.
Kean Productions is a company limited by guarantee with charitable aims. There is a current application to become a registered charity.
The company is made up of Members and a Board of Directors with a Memorandum & Articles (Constitution) which is available on request.
