KT12Films (formerly known as The Walton Film Group) was founded by Madgalena Pniewska in May 2008. The group was established soon after a simple advertisement was placed in a shop window by Magdalena, who wanted to see if there were any other 'local' individuals that shared her interests in film making in Walton-on-Thames. She was astounded by the high volume of response from like minded creative people that lived locally.

After conducting various interviews and meetings, this group became the Walton Film Group. Their first short film production, was called With Sex in The Title to which each member of the group contributed. The advertisement for the actors and casting received a huge response, with over 800 professional actors all wanting to be chosen for the various roles in film. A contract was written up and agreed where all parties involved both behind and in front of the camera, worked for free for the love of film making and with an understanding of being credited in the film. With Sex in the Title was filmed over two days and with the help of everyone's personal time-input and efforts, was made for under £200.

During summer 2009, Magdalena wanted to make The Walton Film Group name 'more original' and with more emphasis on the area in which she lives, and so changed the name to KT12Films inspired by the local post code. Walton-on-Thames has a rich background in film making dating back as far as 1899 by highly respected film making pioneer 'Celic Hepworth' (Rescued by Rover - 1904) and more recently Shepperton Studios.
