less is MORE Productions was set up in 2009 by David Tuffnell & Laura Lonsdale. Both Middlesbrough born and bred, they studied at LAMDA & ALRA, respectively, for 3 years.

The company aims to produce innovative, exciting and quality UK regional touring theatre, focusing on producing powerful new plays. All of their productions showcase the written word that challenge actors and audiences alike, as well as dusting off unknown and previously written works and giving them a relevance to modern day society

Less is MORE is dedicated to making opportunities for young performers, focusing on and working with emerging artists from Middlesbrough and the North East. Their key commitment is to pioneer the arts in these areas, continuing to push young and established regional theatre makers and nurture local talent within the community.

Less is MORE intend to question and expand the boundaries of theatre and performance, whilst conveying to an audience a slice of life which is honest, dramatic but overall true to the North East region.

Their belief is that the North East has such a rich and warm history in characters, traditions and stories that they want to bring to every part of the UK and further.

Past shows include: 'Beautiful Thing', 'The Laramie Project', '13 Minutes Past' (Arts Council, Arc Stockton), 'Miss Crispy 1988' - New writing (Middlesbrough Theatre & 2013 UK Tour), 'Your Home In The West' (Middlesbrough Theatre)
