Love&Madness was formed by Neil Sheppeck in 2000 with the aim of bringing Classical Theatre to a younger and wider audience,
presenting great theatre in fresh and accessible productions.
It's production of Macbeth, set in sixties, gangland London,
performed in promenade in the cellar of the Finborough Arms, Earl's Court, was a sell-out and led to the company being invited to revive the show at The Edinburgh Festival 2001.
The success of Macbeth encouraged co-directors Sheppeck and Kim Gilchrist to take a production of Othello set during the Falkland's Conflict to the following year's festival. Performed in rep with Sheppeck's own play, Sweetness Follows, Othello gained both critical and audience acclaim.
