Mama Quilla was formed in 1999 by Kay Adshead and Lucinda Gane. It was formed to offer a female perspective on current day issues. I am a member if the Mama Quilla Collective a group of actors and creatives that come together to discuss and create theatre as a rapid response to current issues. The collective act as a cooperative and developed out of Mama Quillas relationship with the City Lit. Response comes in form of theatre productions and platforms devised quickly and performed in different types of venues and spaces.
