Oak Tree Productions is an award winning independent film production company based in Glasgow, Scotland. It was established in 2000 by filmmaker, actor and environmentalist Paul Darroch shortly before graduating with an Honours Degree in Film, Television & Theatre Studies.
As a response to the growing trend of films made in the UK (and especially Scotland) consisting of either depressing social realist dramas or violent urban thrillers, Oak Tree Productions main aim was, and still is, to produce films which are both innovative and varied in terms of theme, style and content.
