The Okai Collier Company was formed in 1994 by Artistic Director Omar F. Okai and Producer/Publisher Simon James Collier, who were later joined by David May, Adam Dechanel and Christina Pomeroy, to explore and push the boundaries of everyday ideas, opinions and opportunities in the creative arts: music, theatre, film, dance, painting and the written word. Using a variety of media including IT, the Company aims to break down contemporary social barriers and encourage new talent by developing a range of projects in this field. These projects include award-winning theatrical productions, documentaries, feature films, opera, creative writing with young people, exhibitions for new artists, and social investment projects as well as its innovative publishing division. Okai Collier is committed to maintaining a balanced portfolio of work, divided between the commercial and charitable spheres, drawing on a diverse range of people and disciplines, thereby creating vehicles that are ground breaking, informative and entertaining.
