On the Edge is Leeds’ pioneering Community Arts and Culture Organisation, founded in 2010 to initiate an annual festival which truly represents and is owned by the people of Leeds, and which rivals Edinburgh and Brighton’s Fringe Festivals for prestige and quality. Our strategy is developed around inclusion and pro-activity by people amongst the artistic community and by community activists working to bring people and ideas together under the mantle of creativity. We believe that art can and should be used as an agent for transformation and regeneration, and we particularly favour positive action on behalf of Leeds’ more deprived and isolated communities.
