Located in Scotland’s fourth largest college in north Edinburgh, the Performing Arts Studio Scotland (PASS) is a training institution for those wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts. It encompasses a new, specifically designed theatre and rehearsal studios, where learners - undertaking courses in dance, acting, technical theatre, make-up and theatrical costume - can showcase their talents to fellow learners and members of the public through an array of entertaining performances throughout the year.
Curriculum Manager of PASS, Winifred Jamieson said:
“The concept of PASS is something we have been developing at Telford for some years now, with an aim not only to provide a state-of-the-art teaching environment for Scotland’s aspiring actors, dancers and theatre technicians, but to also give the performing arts industry in Scotland a boost by providing a dedicated, professional training academy.”
PASS has a dedicated team of experienced, performing arts lecturers who work closely with the industry to ensure learners are being given the best opportunity to develop and progress. Partners in Scotland include the Scottish Dance Theatre, Errol White Dance, Festival Theatre and The Traverse Theatre, with experts and agencies from far and wide also holding workshops and auditions for learners.
