Plum Films is an established, award winning Film & Commercial Production Company, founded in 2003 by Micky MacPherson and Tina Foster

MacPherson and Foster both had considerable experience producing commercials for a range of major players throughout the UK, prior to establishing Plum.

Plum’s current roster of directors covers all commercial disciplines from comedy and drama, to animation and striking visuals.

Working for some of the most creative agencies, Plum has a reputation for high-production values and the ability to make the most of any given script and budget.

In what was a natural progression, 2004 saw Plum venture into filmmaking with director Simon Hynd with immediate success, winning a BAFTA Scotland award for their first short film, TUMSHIE MCFADGEN’S BID FOR ULTIMATE BLISS.

2005 brought further accolade with Plum winning the Saltire Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival for their documentary, ARTS THE CATALYST: THE CRAIGMILLAR STORY. A further collaboration in 2005 with Simon Hynd produced MEAT THE CAMPBELLS for CBBC Tartan Smalls. This unique short film was shot entirely against green screen, with all backgrounds created digitally in post production.

Early in 2006, Plum teamed up with Matador Pictures, Shoreline and Circle of Confusion to produce their first feature. SENSELESS is the powerful and disturbing story of an American businessman, kidnapped and tortured live on the internet. This dark chiller, written and directed by Simon Hynd and based on the book by Stona Fitch, premiered at the Sitges Film Festival, in October 2007 and was nominated for Best UK Feature at the 16th Raindance Film Festival.

2008 saw the master of horror, Clive Barker bringing his tales of terror to the big screen again. Plum Films, Matador Pictures and Midnight Picture Show teamed up to to adapt the first in a series of films based on the horror author’s collection, BOOKS OF BLOOD, starring Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood) and Sophie Ward.

Macpherson was Executive Producer on Clive Barker’s DREAD, starring Jackson Rathbone and Laura Donnelly
