Pod Films was set up by photographer Dave Young. His first film Prod was shown on Channel 4's 3 Minute Wonder, resulting in a commission for a series of 4 more 3 Minute Wonders on The Season, shown in September 2007.

Beach was shortlisted for the short film award at the 2007 BritDoc festival and got a great review from Channel 4's Head of Documentaries Angus McQueen.
