The Seagull is a small theatre in Lowestoft, Suffolk which plays host to a regular stream of local talent, regional and national touring theatre companies. The theatre runs it's own in-house production company known as The Seagull Rep. Productions rotate monthly, with creative director John Hales and producers Annie Marler and Lianne Smith.

The Seagull Theatre was originally a junior day school; The Morton Road School until the early 60s, where it was converted to the current building that exists today.

Morton Road School in Pakefield was later opened in 1967 as The Seagull Theatre in Pakefield. The design of the building is of Victorian origin.

In 2006 Suffolk County Council decided to withdraw their funding to the theatre which caused its temporary closure. As a result of this the SOS ('Save our Seagull') group was formed, the patrons of which are oscar-winning Dame Judi Dench and Desmond Barrit. Dench pledged to support campaigners fighting to save the theatre

The theatre soon opened up again in 2007 under the rebrand 'The Seagull'. Since the theatre has re-opened, the building has been renovated and restored to it's former glory. In October 2009, the theatre sourced a grant for new technical equipment as part of continued re-development.
