Shed Productions is an independent UK television production company specialising in contemporary, original drama programming and content and that aims to deliver consistently high-rating drama at a price that is cost effective for broadcasters. Shed Productions was established in 1998 by Eileen Gallagher, Brian Park, Ann McManus and Maureen Chadwick, who all had previously worked together at Granada Television. Their first production proposal, Bad Girls, was commissioned by ITV in the summer of 1998. Following the success of Bad Girls, Shed won a major new commission in 2000 to produce Footballers' Wives for primetime ITV.

Shed has produced well over two hundred hours of prime time drama, with Bad Girls now being recommissioned for an 8th series and Footballers Wives 5 is being transmitted early 2006.. Shed retains the associated rights attached to its productions, and distributes its products to broadcasters in over 25 major territories. Shed’s programme library continues to perform very well in DVD and the international market and a key highlight of 2005 was the sale of both Footballers’ Wives and Bad Girls to BBC America.

Shed markets itself to broadcasters using the strength of its brands. Bad Girls and Footballers' Wives have both delivered high prime-time mass audiences in the valuable 16 to 34 year old demographic. To date, Shed have produced seven series of Bad Girls and five series of Footballers' Wives.

In 2005 Shed developed a new programme, Footballers' Wives Extra Time , a spin-off from Footballers' Wives that focuses on a new set of characters. This was ITV2's first ever drama commission and achieved the second highest audience ratings in the channel’s history to date (2m and a 18% share) Shed is now producing a substantially longer running second series which will air in the spring / summer of 2006.

In 2004 Shed produced The Fugitives, a drama series that concentrated on two runaway teenagers. This was aired on CiTV, and was Shed's first production that targets the children's and family market.

In 2005 Shed secured its first BBC commission; Waterloo Road, a new primetime drama for BBC 1. This drama about teachers turning round a failing comprehensive school, is due to air in the first half of 2006.

In November 2005 Shed Productions Plc acquired Ricochet Limited, a leading UK production company specialising in long running factual entertainment series, internal formats and documentary series. Ricochet has a reputation for innovative and awared winning programming and is an excellent strategic fit for Shed. Recent successes include the global hit Supernanny now broadcasting in 37 territories.
