Tales From The Motherland is a production company for both Film and Theatre which was founded by Anthony Abuah in 2009.

It was born as a result of the lack of Black and African expression in Western Theatre. The sole aim of this company would be tell the many stories of Africans in the diaspora and black people all around the world, whose stories have been either neglected, ignored or exploited for Western Purposes. Below are a list of works done by TFTM PRODUCTIONS.

WOOLWICH BOYS (2012)

A crime film set amidst the Nigerian crime scene in Woolwich during the early noughties. Wale has recently arrived in the UK from Lagos, and is soon enticed into a life of '419' crime, teaming up with his old friend TJ and his colleagues. The crew enjoy a period of financial wealth, women and notoriety but soon realise something about each other.

THE UNLUCKY MOTHER (2011)

A widowed single mother comes to terms with the death of her husband and reflects on the politically corrupt nation which ultimately caused his death.
The Unlucky Mother is symbolic of many of the Ogoni women in Nigeria's Niger-Delta region. Cast includes Marlene Nwoye and David France.

CYIRIMA (2010)

This is a story of a single-parent Tutsi Rwandese family living in London fifteen years after the 1994 genocide. Old feelings are caught into question when the eldest daughter, an aspiring musician brings home her Hutu boyfriend. A talented cast includes Jenny Wambaa and Marlene Nwoye with music by Pappi Ndelu.

   Theatre works | Another Biafra

ANOTHER BIAFRA is set in Warri, Nigeria during the recent amnesty agreement, between the Nigerian Government and the Militants of the Niger-Delta. It is centered around Apori, a young activist and Pan-African as he strives to lead a group of ex-militants in a protest rally on the final day of the amnesty agreement. His decisions are called into question when he is confronted by his pregnant wife,Uwa and his friend, and journalist Eric Roberts. A "heartfelt political drama" and winner of the Ogeyinka Merit Award for Excellence, this is a story that  "deserves audiences" .
