The Spontaneity Shop is an improvisation theatre company based on the work of Keith Johnstone (inventor of Theatresports). Our spontaneous comedy, perfected from years of experience using and teaching the well-founded principles of improvisation, entertains on stage, educates aspiring improvisers through workshops, and trains corporate professionals to be the best employees they can be.
We have devised and developed a number of original improvisation formats, including the instant romantic comedy DreamDate which is now being developed for television. The pilot episode was directed by Little Britain director Geoff Posner.

Artistic Director Deborah Frances-White is a Chicago Improv Festival Artistic Associate and she and co-founder Tom Salinsky are currently writing a book about improvisation for Continuum International Publishing.
