Founded by Kaitlin Argeaux in 2009, Théâtre Libre is a physical theatre company dedicated to producing original and highly imaginative shows by new and emerging artists. We embrace new works and innovative takes on classics.
Inspired by André Antoine, the name means simply, “free theatre.” This is exactly what the company strives to create; theatre for everyone free from the constraints of class, status, or censorship. We aim to use various acting styles and high levels of physicality to re-introduce classics, questioning and exploring their relevance in modern society.
