We set out to produce World Class theatre which conveys, celebrates and challenges the cultural experiences of Africans. The company was founded in 1997 by Femi Elufowoju, jr who is the current Artistic Director. Tiata Fahodzi commissions and develops new writing as well as reinterpreting African and European classics. We pioneer new modes of engagement between artists and audiences, rooted in the various traditional African theatre and music forms. Our remit is to serve an all-inclusive British audience. We usually stage one major production each year as well as showcasing new, emerging talent through initiatives such Tiata Delights, our festivals of new writing. A concert of African Music has become an annual fixture. Behind the scenes we are developing scripts in-house and creating the partnerships with funders and venues which enable us to reach audiences across the UK. E
