The History

Vertigo Films is a vertically integrated UK Development, Finance, Production and Distribution media company founded in July 2002.

In 2003 Vertigo produced and then, in 2004, released the critical and box office success The Football Factory which entered the UK Box Office at number 3. Its DVD sales has made it one of the most successful independent British films in history.

In 2003 Vertigo produced It's All Gone Pete Tong which won Best Film at the Toronto International Film Festival 2004 and both Best Film and Best Actor at the U.S. HBO Comedy Arts Festival 2005. Vertigo Films co-released the film with Redbus Film Distribution nationwide on over 280 screens in May 2005 and it opened in the US in April 2005.

In 2004 Vertigo produced The Business written and directed by Nick Love which came in at number four in the UK box office and with the strength of Nick Love's fan base, beat The Football Factory's success when it was released on DVD in January 2006 at number one in the charts.

In 2005 Vertigo Films also released A Good Woman starring Scarlett Johansson and Helen Hunt; Clean starring Nick Nolte and Maggie Cheung (for which she won Best Actress in Cannes 2004) and Pusher 2, a hard edged Danish Film which went straight to No.1 at the Danish Box office and was nominated for eleven Danish Oscars. Vertigo also released Stoned in November 2005 and Pusher 3 - Angel of Death, which premiered at the 2005 London Film Festival .
