About Yellow Earth Theatre
Yellow Earth is a London based British East Asian touring theatre company, revenue funded by Arts Council England. The company was established in 1995 by five British East Asian performers, with a view to raising the profile and standing of British East Asian theatre.

Yellow Earth tours nationally and internationally, and produces quality ensemble physical work, using performing traditions of east and west to explore contemporary experience through universal themes, and to celebrate the meeting of different cultures.

The company runs the UK’s only international East Asian playreading festival, Typhoon, at Soho Theatre; as well as a new writing scheme, Yellow Voices, with our partners Birmingham Rep, Soho Theatre and the Young Vic. The company also runs a scheme with the Young Vic that develops emerging British East Asian directors, Yellow Stages.

The company has an extensive Education and Outreach programme, recently working with 5,000 schoolchildren at the British Museum on The First Emperor exhibition; responds to ad-hoc requests for East Asian workshops and panel discussions; and provides a regular casting service for British East Asian actors.
