About me
Ever since I was young, I've always loved film and television, watching both for hours on end. As I got older I became intrigued by the behind the scenes aspect of the creation of some of my favourite TV programmes and films so I started watching the second disk of many DVD's as there would be the BTS documentaries and featurettes and it glued me to my seat about how much goes into making these production. This fascination made me want to become a filmmaker.ā
I started learning about film and television through my GCSE Media and Film courses at secondary, learning the theory behind narrative structure, genre's and disaster movies with the opportunity to create our own film idea with preproduction material. Moving into College, I got a start with practical experience on a Creative Media Production Course. I got experience on a variety of roles ranging from director, cinematography, editor, writer and producer on music video, advert, news report and multi camera production to name a few. Heading into university, I was able to expand my knowledge and knowhow on the operation of equipment as well as the more formal way to compose yourself on a set and during a production. Now currently in my third and final year, I've been able to expand my experience in all area's while knowing what I wanted to specialise in. That being directing and writing.
ā
I have so many story idea's in my head that I would like to bring to both small and big screen which is why I chose to specialise in those two area's while also having knowledge in both cinematography, sound and post production/editing, an area that I feel pretty skilled in.
ā
My plan for the future once graduating is to build up more credential's in the field of filmmaking, while also self training myself in post production, cinematography when not working. The primary further goal is to build my own production company and studio from the ground up with a main building with edit suites, production offices etc with three additional buildings for scoring music, production design etc.
Additional information:
Having finished a three year course on a Film Production Course at Portsmouth University and a two year Creative Media Production course at Alton College, Iām a successful individual with experience in managing and coordinating a production staff. I have the ability to deal with problems and I'm able to give good judgement in dealing with situations. In editing I have the ability to deal with problems and I'm able to give good editorial advice on the clips. I am flexible in dealing with new challenges and very quick to adapt to them. I'm a relaxed, hard working, very enthusiastic, friendly well organised person. I work well in a team and I'm good communicator at all levels. I have an approachable manner and I am always willing to undertake a new project and willing to help in the role appropriate to the situation.
