  About me

  I began making costumes at university for various parties and the student theatre scene. Since then, things have progressed and I have been freelancing as a costume maker and designer for the past three years.

  I am accomplished at costume construction and alteration, especially historical, and I love using my unique creativity to design and make 'wearable art' for performance. Through freelancing I have worked with many performers - drag queens, queer performers, body positivity activists - to create outfits that reflect their personalities and ideas.

  I'd love to expand into film and tv, using my independent working skills I gained from setting up my own clothing brand, learning how to structure my time, complete commissions and budget correctly.

  I have experience in professional costume departments from my own role as Designer's Representative for the ADC Theatre's student committee (2016-2017). In this role I was responsible for the university's costume store, advised student designers in selection of costumes, whilst undertaking repairs and the cataloging of items.

  I'm hard-working, personable and ready for any challenge.

  Additional Information

  SKILLS - Pattern-making, pattern cutting, draping on the stand, using industrial sewing machines and overlockers, good knowledge of stretch fabric sewing, hand sewing embellishments, knitting, embroidery and smocking techniques, hand dyeing, stencil work and typography design. Proficient in painting and drawing with different medias.

  CLOTHING BRAND - 'Doughnut Sexii Clothing' is a festival and clubwear brand, providing stretch lycra clothes and accessories in sizes XS - XXXL.

  2018

  I have experience with costume assisting for the music industry, sewing stage costumes for singer songwriter Berg and assisting Geri Doherty on photoshoots and a music video for artist Zoee.

  2017

  Post-graduation I undertook two courses at Central Saint Martins - Historical Costume Making with Diane Favell, and Costume Design with Gary Thorne. I learned effective costume construction for stage and screen as well as some historical techniques, and methods for designing for stage and screen, interpreting from a text.
