    About me

    At the BBC

On leaving school in 1969 I joined the BBC as a Technical Operator (Course TO32 at Evesham) working in Television Centre from Jan 1970 as a Camera Assistant / Sound Assistant on major Drama Crews. There he worked on Elizabeth R, Last of the Mohicans and other major BBC television drama productions.

    Teaching Experience

In 1972 I trained to be a teacher at Stockwell College, Bromley - specialising English, Drama and Radio, Film & Television Studies. He has taught in a Croydon secondary for thirty four years, becoming Head of Drama and teaching Media Studies.

    Video Production

I also started a small video production business Mirage Video Productions and produced a number of low budget documentary style promotional videos for local charities, including a major production for the Croydon Scope group showing their work in school with cerebral palsy children. Now own a growing Video Production company on the Isle of Wight, Blue Sky Island Media. Have produced material for Surrey & Hampshire Police, SNAP (Say No And Phone), Brighstone Christmas Festival.

    Radio Experience

For many years whilst teaching I was a presenter for Radio Mayday (Hospital Radio in Croydon) In 1995 he joined Premier Radio as a Marketing Executive, then External Projects Manager managing Outside Broadcasts. In 2003 I was Station Manager of Premier FM in Manchester and Birmingham.

    Location Sound Manager

Due to my Radio/Sound experience I was invited by Jackie Clark, of "Future Imperfect Productions" to take on joint responsibility for Location Sound Manager and Boom Op for the shoot an "indie feature film",. The film "Parallel Lines" was shot in the summer of 2013. I also "supervised" the ADR recording for the film. Post production is now complete and the film ready for release.
