About me
I'm a Director and Self-Shooter based in the South East with experience in a range of genres and programme types- from short-form fiction and drama to music videos, event filming and corporates. Much of my experience has been on fiction work- something which I believe has made me a better storyteller.
I am an experienced director of low-budget drama and have directed several shorts including episodes of an online scifi drama series called "The Collector's Room" and two story lines for the app-broadcast drama "Persona." My short award-winning action-comedy film "Dead Meet" has had praise for its performances and action direction.
I work well with actors- having been an (admittedly unsuccessful!) actor in my youth- and understand their needs and processes for creating strong performances. Because of my experience as a lighting cameraman and my multi-skilled background, I am also well-placed to communicate effectively with a crew so as to bring a film to life.
I'm quite used to working on tight budgets and/or with limited resources and pride myself on being an innovative and creative filmmaker with an ability to think from the edit backwards, thus saving time and money. I'm a firm believer that "Content is King" and try to put all my energy into telling a good story or putting across a strong message.
Additional skills include storyboarding (hand-drawn and digital), editing (using FCPX) and a passable skill in cinematography!
