About me
My name is Django Holder I have been working professionally in the Entertainment industry sinceI graduated from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in July 2016 with a BA (Hons) in Sound Technology. Since my time at LIPA I have worked on many short film projects around the Liverpool, Manchester and London areas as a sound designer, foley artist and composer. I have also worked on two EPs for bands around the Liverpool area using my home studio set-up and the studios based at LIPA. Theatre is also a keen passion of mine and I have lots of professional experience working as a Sound Designer and operator for theatre shows around the Liverpool, Manchester and London areas.
I have been working most recently as an audio assistant for Scott Talbott at the BBC for their recordings of ‘The Imitation Game’ and ‘Tenable’ at Elstree and Pinewood studios. This involved performing any tasks that the sound manager needed. I was involved in the get ins and setup of the studio floor. I spent time working both on the studio floor and in the gallery during rehearsals and recordings.
I am an extremely hard working and reliable individual with lots of technical knowledge, coupled with a keen creative eye. During my time at LIPA I was able to learn and implement many skills involved in audio for TV and Film. I have experience working on many DAWs including, Pro Tools, Logic X and Pyramix. I am very knowledgeable in many broadcasting standards can mix audio to a set design and brief. I have experience mixing in surround sound and creating both LtRt and LoRo mixes. I can create mixes using different standards such as Dolby and DTS.
In my final year at LIPA I completed a Post-Production project which involved completely replacing all audio on two film clips. Recording foley, ADR and music, I replaced all audio on the film clips with my own. The link to view both film clips is below:

I also have a lot of experience working professionally in other areas of audio production. During my time at LIPA I worked on a few sessions with producer Steve Levine at his studio in Liverpool. I have also spent time at Roy Wood's personal home studio. I am a very fast learner when it comes to new software or hardware.
I was the head of sound for the Prestbury Youth Pantomime’s consecutive year performances at MADs Little Theatre in Macclesfield from removed . During this time I was responsible for all areas of sound for the run of the show. My credits at LIPA include: Three Winters (2016, Sennheiser Studio Theatre, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts), Much Ado About Nothing (2016, Paul McCartney Auditorium, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts), American Snapshots (2015, Sennheiser Studio Theatre, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts), Peter Pan (2015, MADS Little Theatre), The Crucible (2014, 4.24 Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts), A View from the Bridge (2014, 4.24 Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts).
In July 2016 I was the sound designer for a UK tour of ‘You Boy’ by SeeGold Productions. I then went on to become the sound designer for ‘Adam, Eve and Steve’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where we played countless sold out shows and received 5* reviews.
I sound designed a performance of ‘Shake It Up Baby’ and ‘Along The Mersey’ at The Unity Theatre in Liverpool for their ‘Ticket To Write Festival’.
I then worked for Orbital Sound at The Liverpool Empire Theatre as a Sound No.2 for their production of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’ This performance played to over 1500 people a night for a month's run. I was in charge of all RF microphones for this performance. Any issues that arose during the performance were my responsibility to fault find quickly and effectively create a solution without disturbing the performance in any way. I was able to effectively work under pressure during this run and managed to really hone my skills. I was able to communicate effectively with all members of the cast and crew. My ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds is extremely useful in this profession.
In March 2017 I was asked to become sound designer again for ‘Adam, Eve and Steve’ when it transferred to The Kings Head Theatre in Islington.
I am a very personable person and can work professionally with people of all different ages and backgrounds. I have found that this is one of the most important things when working with artists and have worked hard to make sure that I always have a strong working relationship with clients.
I am also extremely creative. I play both guitar and piano and am part of a band that play extensively around the London area and is also playing at the Grand National at Aintree this year, for the third year running. I have written many songs for my band and others and have worked as a composer for many short film projects.
During my time at LIPA I was the producer and engineer for a weekly music show that was broadcast online. Every week a new band would come into the studio and we would record and film them playing a 'live lounge' session. This would be recorded, mixed, mastered and uploaded all in one day.
I was also the producer for 'Radio LIPA' a fortnightly radio show that was broadcast online. This involved recording presenters in the studio and on location and also involved mixing live bands for broadcast.
