About me
Hello,
I am been working professionally in the camera department for over 10 years now & I love my job. Recently I have been DOP of a television drama & my first feature film still shooting advertising and documentary in between long-form jobs. I am always up for creative shoots, so don't hesitate to get in touch with a great script!
Additional Information
An Australian cinematographer, now based in the U.K. I am looking to connect with more directors this side of the globe. Starting out loading 35 mm film into cameras, I have spent 10 years working my way up in the film industry. The disicpline of film is ingrained in my work ethic and the innovation of digital cameras has enchanced my style. I shoot predominantny on the Alexa but as every job is different I keep myself well versed with all professional cameras.
My greatest skills lie in narrative driven framing, emotive lighting & connecting with people (infront of the camera and behind). Fortunately I have a lot of experience working with talent; ranging from non actors to new actors as well as children and I excell at making them comfortable and engage with the camera. I have found this particuarly benificial in my documentary work. With framing and lighting, I work hard in pre-production with a script/ subject matter to bring more depth to the project and avoid indulging in stylistic framing/ lighting just for the sake of it.
I have just spent 3 months as a DOP for Fiction Factory & have been asked to come back for their next season, shooting in August this year. I have also enjoyed regular stints as second unit camera on the drama “Hinterland”, shooting documentaries and advertising in between long form jobs. I am currently making a climate change documentary for organisation 350.org, creating the whole work makes me a more ecominical shooter – I know what I will use in the edit. Sadly currently none of my reel has my updated work, this is booked to be updated late December. Please contact me for stills of my latest TV drama or just to have a chat. Thank-you for your time,
Emily
