About me
As well as earning a BA (Hons) Film Production degree, I have worked behind and in front of the camera for over 10 years.
From dramatic feature films to documentary portraits, my experience has included: camera-operating, editing, screenwriting, production management and directing.
What I love most about filmmaking is the story-telling power it gives you. Over the years honing my craft has enabled me to more effectively influence an audience's emotions and shape their thoughts and conscious. There is always space to become better creative, to grow and learn, so the art will always inspire me.
I have exceptional listening and communication skills, which lets me work comfortably as a leader, who delegates tasks clearly and efficiently and as an individual team member, who effectively takes and follows instructions.
I enjoy working both independently and as a team player, with a strong passion to collaborate and a strong initiative, imagination and problem-solving skills.
Being a director, means manipulating everything that lies within the scene, to tell the story as effectively as possible. This includes making decisions in regard to heads of departments: camera, props/costumes, post and working closely with actors in order to shape the characters within the narrative.
In addition, working as a producer, has allowed me to see things from a logistical and budgetary point of view, aiding me to become a great negotiator and learn how to compromise well. Admin and paperwork are a must in all areas of work, so to have this experience has been highly beneficial.
Plus, I have trained and supervised junior staff, delegating work as required, whilst offering encouragement to build their confidence and help to develop their skills too.
I have great overall knowledge of the filmmaking process and am always happy to take on new challenges too.
