About me
My full portfolio can be found on my website at: filipp-prokofjev.squarespace.comMy name is Filipp Prokofjev and I am currently a studio and location camera operator for the Sky ‘My Channel’ (Sky channel 203). I operate their JVC studio camera rig at their ‘Record TV’ studio in Finsbury Park, London, as well as Canon c100 and Sony fs7 for location shoots across the UK.
Within the studio I operate the studio rig to provide broadcast standard framing, track, pan, zoom and focus pull for popular shows on Sky 203 such as ‘The Chrissy B Show’ and ‘Love Talk’. These are broadcast during the 3pm and 7pm timeslots respectively. I also have extensive experience using Cotelux and Ianaro studio lighting systems to provide optimal studio lighting for guest interviews and introductory segments.
I am also responsible for responding to and (were suitable) fixing any technical issues relating to camera equipment and (within the studio) components establishing a relationship between the Cameras and Tricaster. For example, it is often the camera operators role to ensure there is good function to manual focus and zoom units, and should there be a problem, to tighten/reconfigure the units as suitable to establish good function. The same is true for external monitors attached to the camera, and ensuring that there is a stable feed between the monitor, camera and tricaster is vital in securing smooth delivery from presenters.
During location shoot segments I operate either the company c100, Sony fs7 or selection of Panasonic camcorders. Location shoots offer a huge variety of camerawork and the needs of the shoot vary from production to production, but by and large they consist of the Vox pop style ‘Street Chats’, restaurant/ venue reviews and coverage of high energy social activities. These shoots require creative and artistic skillsets, as these VT’s are meant to offset the static nature of the studio with visually interesting camerawork.
Alongside this I am the primary freelance camera operator for Climb Online, digital marketing agency founded by 2014 ‘Apprentice’ winner Mark Wright, and co-founded by Apprentice head, Lord Alan Sugar. To date, I have filmed several promotional videos for their client, Alana Spencer, 2016 ‘Apprentice’ winner. These videos have included footage promoting Alana’s UK wide baking business as well as interviews with Lord Alan Sugar. The primary camera’s for these shoots have been Canon 5d mk 3, canon 700d and canon c100.
Since May of 2014 I have been directing, shooting and editing promotional, short film, music video and documentary content for a variety of clients on a freelance basis.
My latest promotional for Climb Online, featuring my interviews with Alan Sugar can be found on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0l5eFnZePM&t=15s

Alternatively, my latest freelance promotional, shot and edited for an acting academy/ casting company can be found on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTPqmFl6-e8
Since May 2014 I worked for a number of clients in various industries such as TV, food, hospitality and entertainment. I specialise in creating engaging video that is in keeping with the brand identity of the client, as well as engage the audience with narrative elements. My clients have ranged from small business's such as independent restaurants to large entities such as Climb Online, Sky 203 and The Velvet Magazine.
I specialise in a variety of camera’s, although the majority of my work have been DSLR and large sensor cinema/studio camera based. The majority of my work has incorporated Canon 5D mk 3 and Canon c100, JVC GY-HM850/ GY-HM890, Sony FS7 and Black Magic Ursa.
I also have extensive experience editing in Adobe Premier Pro and supplementing editing with further work in Adobe SpeedGrade, After Effects and Photoshop. My experience extends to exporting formats and codecs. My edits are optimised to take full advantage of the video hosting capabilities of YouTube and Facebook, using specific export formats (H.264/ Pal DV formats) to maximise video quality. I also optimise colour grading/correction to take full advantage of these formats, for example, a video for YouTube will need specific grading (darker reds/greens) as opposed to Facebook.
All the best,
Filipp Prokofjev
