About me
I am RADA trained with a Postgraduate Diploma in Theatre Costume, acting as costume supervisor in both theatre and film. This qualification builds on the knowledge and practical skills in contemporary fashion, gained as a graduate from a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design. I believe that my personal portfolio of skills, abilities and experience are strongly aligned to those required for this post. My degree encompassed all stages of clothing design, development and construction that was enhanced with an eye for trends within the fashion industry. RADA has developed my ability to make, alter and fit existing costumes or my own designs to a professionally high standard. My practical experience with RADA has been wide-ranging and involved cinematic work. Examples include undertaking roles in short films as a costume designer and supervisor. This involved seamless communication with the actors and director to provide advice and closely to bring the production vision to life. It also involved supporting the production designer to complement and complete each-other’s design, thereby enabling seamless production flow. Outside of RADA, I was chosen as the costume assistant for a music video, where the roles were engagement with the set-up for the shoot, confirming all items were prepped and ensuring the actors were individually dressed and accessorised; I also extended my abilities by maintaining the continuity throughout the shoot. My theatre experience comprises the independent costume supervision of 4 professional theatre productions, giving me an excellent understanding of costume monitoring, preparation, maintenance, organisation and budgeting. I can travel independently using my clean driving licence and have access to a small vehicle (if required). I feel confident that I would be able to make a most effective contribution to the teamLicense & Passport
