About me
I trained at Central Saint Martin’s at Foundation level, moving to Middlesex University which offered General Illustration/Visual Communication Design at BA level and where earned a First-Class Honours Degree. I returned to Central Saint Martin’s where I was offered a bursary to complete my Masters Degree in Illustration. My creative interests have always been varied and my career has led me in many directions, touching upon set and backdrop painting, basic prop making, private commissions, teaching, corporate training, designing and making Escape Rooms and years of mural painting.
During my working life I’ve juggled being a full-time mum, and only now as my two gorgeous children start their journey into professional life, have I decided that it is time to pursue my career dreams again and follow the passion for prop making that I happened upon following graduation.
I have sought to develop my skill set and have completed a Prop Making course at Guildhall, continued developing my observational skills through attending life drawing classes and have taught drawing and painting courses. I attended a short paint finishes course in woodgraining and marbling and I will be attending an industrial Spray Gun Course and Finishes Course in Gloucester in the New Year.
I have worked with a variety of materials from basic mark making tools (pencils, pens, paint, brushes, ink, quills, charcoal etc), through to Sculpey, clay, EVA foam, Plaster of Paris, resins, and latex. I have some experience of flocking, gilding and mold making.
With a lifetime love of the theatre, my passion to create environments and props that excite an ‘audience’, was further ignited when I was commissioned to design and paint 4 Escape Rooms.
I remain curious and excited about all things creative.
