About me
Lucía Conejero Rodilla is a multidisciplinary artist trained in Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, and in Scenography at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, UK (MA with Distinction). Also, trained in dance, music and circus.She was the artistic director and designer of music videos for the band ‘La Pulqueria’ (Sony-BMG), for dance companies and short films. She also worked in the Costume Department of the ‘Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía’ (Valencia Opera House).
In 2008 she moved to NY and in 2009, to London, where she joined the Costume Department of the National Youth Theatre. Afterwards, Lucía has worked as a freelance designer and maker (mainly in costume) for ‘Woman Bomb’ (Tristan Bates), the opera ‘The Moonflower’ at Tête à Tête Festival and ‘Peer Gynt Recharged’ (both in Riverside Studios), and in the private opera event ‘Sumptuous Supper’ by Edible Opera at the English National Opera (accessories designer), among others. Recently, she has worked as a designer and prop maker for Max Mara Art Prize for Women Exhibition of Corin Sworn at the Whitechapel Gallery in collaboration with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (exhibition dates 20th May - 19th July 2015).
Lucía has been selected to exhibit and represent the UK at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ 15), 18th – 28th June 2015, and at The Victoria & Albert Museum of London, 10th July 2015 – 3rd Jan 2016, as part of The Society Of British Theatre Designers 'Make: Believe' National Exhibition. This exhibition has been part of the London Design Festival 2015, 19-27 Sept 2015. She was also included at the PQ 15 in the exhibition 'Tránsito por la Escenografía Española' at the Spanish Cervantes Institute of Prague.
