About me
Hey, how are you? I'm Marcus, born in the north of England, left school and moved to the south at 16 years old, where I began working with a design agency.
My intention was always to return to school and study at Central Saint Martins, but after a few years of cutting my teeth with clients, learning on the job seemed to make more sense for me. After a few years travelling with bands, filming them in the studio and on the road, living in New York and working mainly in California, I've settled in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, at the ripe old age of 38 with my wife Hélène, three kids and our dog Pork Chop.
I try to keep my work varied, high-end and most importantly well-crafted; I work primarily as a Director and DP, with agencies and production companies bringing me in to either create pitches and scripts, or work with their existing creative. My wife and I founded The Birdhouse Studio three years ago and its given us the opportunity to focus on small and large projects.
Pre-production and the often tight turn arounds bring me a real joy, I love a good deadline and its matched in the energy and passion I have for being on a set.
I have Directed and DP'd music videos for artists such as Julia Michaels and Raleigh Ritchie and interviewed artists from Billie Eilish to Eric Clapton. I've shot live events in fields and on cruise ships, with bands such as Vintage Trouble and Beth Hart.
Whilst I love to work on music projects, I have also Directed and DP'd brand films and social spots for clients including Lamborghini, Jaguar Land Rover, Lotus Cars, Cheverolet and Ford.
