My Equipment/Kit: a Canon 5D Mark3 with a series of lenses (click for more details) shoulder rig and follow focus. Tripod with a fluid head. A top mounted flash for photography and LED panel for video. I have a Rode NTG-2 microphone and Zoom recorder.

I can use: Red One, Red Epic, Son, Lighting; I have used all sorts from Kino Flow, LED panels and Dedo's up the ranks to Arri 2K,5K,16K Fresnels. Helium balloon lights 8m wide!

About me

I'm a ‘Brighton University' graduate that has traveled and lived on the other side of the world. I am passionate about film and in particular like learning about cameras and lighting techniques. I like to think I am quite laid back and talk to anyone and everyone. I take my job seriously, but as it becomes second nature, I really enjoy it which means I get the job done with a smile on my face.
I have been filming and making videos for six years now, starting out by filming and editing weekly/monthly short promos for club nights and festivals and also music videos under the company name Flab Productions Ltd which was my friend and I have recently taken a serious interest in feature films and shorts, as this is where I want to be working, as a Camera Assistant. Being part of a team of highly skilled individuals, where I have one job to do, well, instead of spreading myself thinly over several roles. When that is the case I never feel fully committed and something will be compromised.
I have been working as a 2nd Camera Assistant or a 2nd AC for some time now and I feel the job is for me. I am very organised and think it is important to keep up to date with the developments and improvements in technology regarding camera related equipment, and software.
Whilst at Uni I co founded and set up a company called ‘Flab Productions Ltd.' with my partner at the time. We made promos and music related videos. The filming was my contribution was to film; the editing was down to my partner Sophia.
I went on to work in Melbourne, Australia. I was the producer/videographer for a weekly television show called 'Bright Things TV'. I learnt so much doing this and felt lucky to have been able to work in broadcast. The workload was extremely hard work as it was mainly only the two of us creating it, with very little help.
When I returned to London I found I was working regularly with a director called Steve Glashier, as well as shooting my own projects. As I got to know what I was doing more I took on more responsibilities and became his production assistant and 1st AC.
I am currently looking for as much work experience as a 2nd AC as possible as I have been learning the role and what is expected of someone that is exceptional in this field. But the only real way to become exceptional is experience and hard work.
