I started out as the lead vocalist, songwriter and keyboardist for a punk/rock band called ‘ PURPLE HOUSECAT ‘ whilst I was at The Royal Ballet Lower School in Richmond Park. It was a four-piece band formed of schoolmates. It was mostly a cover band with a few original tracks. Before graduation at the Lower School, not all the band members made it into the Upper School at Covent Garden therefore we all quit the band and went our separate ways - I went to Covent Garden and It was at this point I decided to continue and go solo; I had several small projects and songs that I kept under my belt so it was during this period, I started to combine my song writing, piano playing and singing.
My grandmother taught me piano from the age of 7 years, she was very strict and persistent and now I realise how truly lucky I was and I thank her still to this day. As what seemed boring at the time has now paid off and evolving. My passion for music grew as time went on and I was very interested in expanding my knowledge with different styles of piano playing such as Blues, Rock and Jazz. I am greatly inspired and influenced by artists such as Elton John, Billy Joel, Carol King, Fiona Apple, Michael Jackson… The list is endless.
My greatest influences were my grandparents as they were both involved in the music world. My grandfather was a bass baritone and Principal Opera Singer at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden for over 45 years, he had an illustrious career touring the world and sang amongst some of the most well known and high profile singers of the 20th and 21st century such as Maria Callas, Tito Gobbi, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose’ Carreras to name but a few.
I have been writing music from the age of 14 years and I now have accumulated a collection of over seventy songs all of my own creations. I start off by one melodic idea, which then evolves into a vocal line with lyrics, which is finally incorporated with some chords on the piano, and then I turn it into a song. I have a natural ability to do this. The ideas keep flowing constantly.
In 2014 after graduation at Covent Garden in the Upper School, I was offered a contract with The National Ballet of Canada in Toronto despite being offered to remain in Toronto with the company, I decided to leave in 2015 and return to London and pursue my music career which is where I am right now.
I am not giving up dancing, I am currently freelancing which is allowing me to have the extra time and freedom to concentrate passionately and creatively to my music and evolve as a performing artist.
I am a performer and have been as of a young age. My vision is to combine my dancing and my singing and taking music and dance to the next level, bringing something different and unique to the current music scene.
