About me
Lauren graduated from the Central School of Ballet with a BA (hons) degree and has since been fortunate to work with many choreographers including Patricia Vallis (Sublix, Welsh Dance Platform for NDCW), Cathy Marston (Ballet Central Tour), Marc Brew (Ballet Cymru), Lynne Hockney (Eugene Onegin for Grange Park Opera), Will Tuckett and Jamie Thomson (Covent Garden Dance Company), Christopher Hampson and Alexandra Worrall (The Johann Strauss Gala). Other credits include Swan Lake (English National Ballet, Royal Albert Hall), Les Vêpres Siciliennes (ROH), Demise (a short film for Inspired Pictures), Firebird (Dance Theatre of Harlem), Giselle (National Ballet of Cuba), and as a choreographer and performer in the Gravity Project, an art installation which involved dancing on a stage frosted with salt. Lauren has also worked extensively with Ballet Cymru performing a variety of roles from the better known Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Helena (Midsummer Night’s Dream), Myrtha/Peasant Pas (Giselle) and Belle (Beauty and the Beast) to the leading lady of Welsh productions, Glythin (Lady of the Lake) and Rosie Probert (Under Milk Wood). Lauren has also choreographed several works for Ballet Cymru, creating Carnival of the Animals in collaboration with Symphonia Cymru in 2008, Kneading You in 2009, Spanish Suite in 2010 and a site specific piece Urban Sprawl, in collaboration with URRL artists in 2011. She has also choreographed for the Philip Lawrence Award ceremony and is in production on a multi discipline piece based on the music and life of Victor Ullman.Skills
