A DROP OF THE PURE is about a Manchester lad who sets up a Folk Night above a pub and then must fight to save it from closing down.
A DROP OF THE PURE is a comic/realist/drama set in present day Manchester, London and Barcelona. It’s about JIMMY, a 29 year old Manchester lad, who has had enough chasing pop success in London and so returns home to set up a free Folk Night. He wants to play from his heart, get his soul back again and make it work with his girlfriend, EILISH. But his old band mate, CALLUM, has come up to steal his girl and his songs. And the locals, who usually fill the night, have abandoned him to watch the footy on the big screens down the road; plus there’s a bloke from the brewery coming in to look at the place and decide its future. Jimmy loses his songs and loses his Folk Night, but gains his soul, playing from the heart again, free to love his girlfriend.
