A dipute between neighbours takes an unexpected turn.
A family, unable to clear its rent arrears, has been evicted, much to the distress of their elderly, retired neighbour, Alan Berry. When George, the landlord, turns up, demanding that Alan cut down his hedge in order to give the landlord a better view and enhance the value of his property a clash is inevitable. However Alan is more devious than he appears and wins the day in an unexpected twist of events.
