‘Abhinaya’ is a short film celebrating the problems of today’s generation, through Kathak, where they often find themselves torn between making choices.

‘Abhinayam’ in Film is a short film celebrating the problems of today’s generation where they often find themselves torn between doing something they want to do and something their parents want them to do. Nupura, lead character in this film, wants to perform Kathak traditionally and classically, whereas her mother wants her to perform Kathak in ‘Mujra’ and ‘Bollywood’ style. Mother and daughter, both being stubborn and both having their individual viewpoint are caught in a quarrel where Nupura’s Kathak guru is caught in-between trying to bring equilibrium in the situation. Creatively being shot on real location and in one sequence shot actors are required to memorise their part and perform like a stage drama performance.
