Penny and John are both in love. Seperately they declare their love to camera as they prepare for the day. At first the audience is led to believe they are in love with each other. But when Penny arrives at John's house she greets him as "Daddy". We discover that Penny is in love with Zack, her college professor, and John, her father whose wife died just over a year ago, is in love with Alice, a girl of Penny's age who is coming over to meet her. When John tells Penny about Alice, an argument ensues. Penny reveals her affair with Zack prompting more anger. After a few heartfelt asides to camera the two realise they are in the same boat and need to support each other. They make amends.
