An Estuary tells the story of a man tearing himself in two.
Marcus Marlow’s imperfect marriage has died and he is now caught up in a love affair with a former pupil, Amber. The film begins as he promises Amber that he will go home to leave his wife, but the events of his journey, and the people he meets, will throw his decision into new lights, and his mind into disarray. Real time is punctuated by memories; triggered by the events of the evening. Marlow’s journey becomes a reflection of his chaotic mental state and we delve into the mind of someone torn completely in two, caught between the current and the tide.
