Luke and Rachel are splitting up after three years together. Ben and Zoey met just three hours ago but already think they're an item. Luke and Rachel met playing tennis, where she demonstrated superior ball control. Ben talked Zoey out of jumping into the Thames - even though she had no intention of doing so. In the bedroom sparks fly for one couple, while the others have to deal with a damp squib. In a final showdown in the park, one pair finds lasting love and the others have a change of heart. AN ITEM takes a mischievous look at the perils and pleasures of contemporary courtship.
